Hell Pie is a near perfect concoction of 3D collectathon goodness

Okay I'll just say it straight up out in front, this is as good as any modern 3D platformer like Hat in Time or Yooka Laylee. Hell Pie going right for the Conker approach and doing in your face adult humor combined with a really unique aesthetic and movement mechanics make this a hard recommend from me.

Super Kiwi 64 is yet another low poly birdy platformer

This game (like Toree 3D) is all about going for that low poly exploring platforming aesthetic, and it does it really well! Super Kiwi obviously goes more towards the N64 side, and I think it hits it really well!

Toree 3D is a very quick birdy platformer

This game is all about low poly platforming, and that's literally it, well sort of. It's very short, clocking in an under an hour, but it's also $2 or under, so what do I expect.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed

In my opinion Sega Racing Transformed is what Mario Kart should have evolved into years ago. Lots of different game modes, lots of variety of tracks, not limited to just Sonic inspiration, and a great focus on mechanics and making sure you're having the entire ride.

Tinykin is essentially Pikmin but without the combat, more puzzles, and more verticality/platforming. Oh it's also set completely indoors too. There that's it. If that's enough to get you going, stop and go try out the free demos now.

I really wanted to like Control a LOT, it's a semi-open world metroidvania-ish game with sci-fi/spooky stuff, that's all good/amazing stuff. I think what held it back for me was I never felt like it actually WAS that. Like it has all these amazing ideas that it DOES pull off, but the things it only does okay with is what stuck with me more.

Ion Fury

My tldr review right now is if you love Build Engine games like Duke Nukem 3D, Shadow Warrior, Blood, etc then you'll love this, especially from the level design. But as much as I really wanted to 10/10 TRUE GAMER the whole thing, I think there are a few gameplay things that leave it from being better than it could be.

Blue Fire

Blue Fire is a 3D Metroidvania Platformer that combines Zelda, Dark Souls, and PS2 era/Super Mario 64-esque platforming into a pretty cohesive and really fun package. It definitely wears all of its influences front and center, where I felt instead of me thinking they were "copying" certain tropes/ideas from other games, I felt more like they were playing homage or tribute to everything they got inspired from.

Blasphemous

Blasphemous is a metroidvania set in a sort of nightmare-ish holy world. They put a LOT of effort into world-building and style and it totally pays off, even if it's hard to follow. Okay I'll get this out of the way, it was hard for me to follow.

Dandara: Trials of Fear

Dandara seems like a very Metroidvania platformer at first. The gimmick is you can't move left and right like you can traditionally in uh, *most* action platformers, but you can only jump to other platforms around you.
